It's an innovative media consisting of a TV channel hosted on the Italian digital terrestrial platform, and a web site that activates its users by stimulating their participation.
On QOOB, each viewer can be the protagonist and contributor, by uploading original content on the site and commenting/suggesting interesting contents found on the web. The best content is selected by QOOB's editorial team for broadcasting on the TV channel. Each selected content is then paid through a service called QOOB PAYOUT.
QOOB is thus a true multimedia platform, that allows its users to access all of its content.

You can upload songs and videos of your creation or of which you obtained explicit (written) approval/license by the author.

You have to subscribe to the site, fill your page with your personal information and access the upload page.

You can upload video files in wmv, mpeg and avi formats. Each video can't be bigger than 50 MB. As for the audio, we accept mp3 no bigger than 7 MB.

When you upload some content, you can associate it to three key-words that describe it and allow other users to find it better. For instance, if you upload a video featuring a lovely sunset in Sausalito, you can insert these tags: Sausalito, sea, sunset.

QOOB's categories represent the content areas that you can find on the site. It's important you choose the right category that better represents your content. If you can't find a suitable one for your content, choose "other". In the AUDIO section, categories represent the music genre.

Your audio will be available to the whole community of Qoob's videomakers, so that they can download it and use it as a soundtrack on a video they created. If that video with your soundtrack is picked by Qoob's editorial team for broadcast, then not only the videomaker but also you, audiomaker, will enter the Payout scheme.

QOOB aims to promote the best content and will use your content on all of its digital platforms. Your videos and songs will not be sold, nor distributed for money. The right we ask you to grant us, when you upload, it's in fact related only to the streaming or progressive flash download for promotional purposes. Remember that you can un-publish your content directly from your personal page, whenever you feel like it. All the rights that you grant to QOOB cease when you un-publish a content.

Of course, you can rate each and every content. You can rate a content you like or one you dislike. Ratings are important to make a particular content stand out from the crowd and to help Qoob's editorial team in their daily quest for the best contents uploaded. This said, ratings are not the one and only variable for TV selection. So, all bombing maniacs out there be warned…Ratings, nevertheless, are a very important tool, along with comments, to give a feedback to the author and show your appreciation.

Yes, the best content on the site will be chosen by QOOB's editorial team for TV broadcasting. The authors of the selected content will be contacted directly by QOOB. You can spot whether a content has been chosen for TV if it's marked with a "TV" icon on the videopage.
QOOB chooses content based on quality, originality and coherence with the channel's editorial concept, so there's room for people who have great technical skills and talent, but also for dyi's who have great imagination or are dealing with an interesting topic.

QOOB believes in an innovative production process. Therefore, we frequently launch multiple commissioning schemes aimed to the creation of a particular content.
Basically we give you a brief, a description of a topic that we would like your content to be about. It can be anything: from your hood to public affairs, from your hobbies to ecology and so forth.
Some commissioning schemes can be sponsored and are aimed to make you produce a TV campaign for the brands working with QOOB. The commissioning schemes are another way to see your content broadcasted on TV. But don't worry, if you have produced some content that doesn't relate to the topic you can go ahead and upload them via the 'normal' route and they could still end up on TV. Just remember to enter them in the relevant category (i.e. music, stories, art etc.).
In order to participate to a particular commissioning scheme, be sure to choose the right commissioning scheme from the drop down menu in the video upload section.

QOOB PAYOUT is the service that QOOB uses to pay the video makers when their content gets chosen to be broadcasted in TV, being it through a generic upload or through a commissioning. With QOOB PAYOUT you get paid immediately through PAYPAL. You can find all the info on the QOOB PAYOUT in the TV section.

QOOB FACTORY is the brand we developed to mark all Qoob's productions.
Any talented and creative user can be part of it.
How? If you have an idea that you'd like to see developed but have never had the financial means to see it through, you can submit it to us, via email or post and we'll take it into consideration. It can be a series or a one-off, an animation, a live action film, a documentary, it can be funny or dramatic, anything goes, as long as we find some edgyness, freshness, innovation to it.

If you sign up you can upload your content, manage your personal page, get in touch with other users, receive QOOB's newsletter, rate and comment other content, receive suggestions on appealing content based on your preferences, post open broadcasts and much more. If you don't sign up you can still enjoy without limitations all of QOOB's content. If you would like to receive our newsletter and comment on the content without dealing with other functionalities, you can sign up without filling the info requested to set up your personal page.

You can chat or use your messenger, you can leave a comment in the personal page or send a message into the user's inbox.

You can ask another user to be part of your network. If your friendship request is accepted, you can exchange direct messages with your new friend and you will be part of his network as well. Your network represents all the people on QOOB you have particular respect for and whom you'd like to collaborate or exchange thoughts with…or simply have fun!

Key-words are words that you can associate to your profile when you sign up and to every content you upload. The key-words better describe your content and allow it to be found easier. Also, by surfing through the keywords associated with one content, you can find similar content to the one you are watching.

You have to log in, access your personal page through the sub menu in the home page and click on modify profile.

Simple: because if you win something or one of your videos goes on TV we need to contact you.

An open broadcast is a post found browsing on the web that you would like to share with the QOOB community. An open broadcast can be related to a topic you choose or something you'd like to show, a video you have seen on youtube or news taken from a blog. Every open broadcast can spring a discussion within the community. The best open broadcast will be shown on television on a dedicated slot. By spreading the open broadcasts online, you can influence what's aired on the channel, even if you are not a video producer.

It's a simple button you can copy on your browser's bookmark bar. Once you have the button on your bar, while surfing freely on the web, you can easily signal an interesting content that you have seen and post it on QOOB with just a few clicks. As an example, if you are on youtube and you see an interesting video all you need to do is click on the QOOB BROADCAST button on your browser's bookmark bar to post it on QOOB, together with a brief description of why you've posted it.

Icons give further information on a content or a user. For instance they tell you if a video has gone on TV, if it's a QOOB FACTORY production or if it's a winner of a commissioning scheme.
